Michael Grimaldi is one of the finest and most elusive realist painters around today. Regarded highly as a teacher, Grimaldi has focused his career toward molding a new wave of artists to carry on the tradition of classical, realist painting. While he has created a ravenous fan base constantly anticipating a new body of work, we will have to appreciate his very limited gallery contributions, and look forward to the next generation of realists born of his influence.

Michael Grimaldi is easily the most elusive artist in the Arcadia family, and definitely one of the most asked about. His work is incredibly classical in technique, but so unique in style and tone that anyone could pick out a Grimaldi from across the gallery. While we would all love to see a new show, his role as a profoundly dedicated teacher has consumed his being. For now, let’s enjoy this classic:
